Before you start any Certified CyberDefenders certification course, here’s everything you need to know to get going smoothly. This guide explains how the labs work, what to expect, and how to get help if something goes wrong. Following these tips will save you time and make your learning experience easier.
No Internet Access in Labs
Online lab machines do not have internet access.
Any activity requiring the internet should be performed on your local machine.
This is expected behavior and part of the lab environment design
Large Memory Image Processing Delays
Some labs involve processing large memory or disk dumps.
Certain commands may take a few minutes to complete.
This delay is normal. Please be patient and avoid restarting the lab unnecessarily.
Using the Clipboard Feature
To be able to use copy/paste between your local machine and any lab cloud machine, you need to do the following:
Allow Clipboard Permission:
Click on the lock icon in the URL bar of your browser to access site settings.
Find and enable the 'Clipboard' setting to allow copy-paste operations between the lab environment and your local machine.
Use Google Chrome for the best experience. Copy/paste has been known to have issues on Firefox and Safari.
Reporting an Issue
If you experience an issue during the course or the lab, use the built-in reporting options:
Reporting an Issue in a Lesson
Scroll to the end of the lesson.
Use the “Report an Issue” button.
Clearly describe the problem.
Reporting an Issue in a Lab
Use the “Report an Issue” button at the top of the lab page.
Explain what you were doing when the issue occurred.
Providing clear details helps the support team investigate and resolve issues faster.
