This guide explains how your exam attempts and certification work — from the moment you purchase your exam to the day you certify.
1. Exam Attempts
Each exam purchase comes with two included exam attempts to give you flexibility and confidence.
First Attempt: Valid for 3 months after you click "Start".
Second Attempt: Valid for 4 months from the date of purchase (i.e., 1 month after the first attempt expires).
To ensure you have time to review and strengthen your skills, there is a 20-day cool-off period between each attempt.
You must start your exam before the expiration date on your dashboard. Once started, you have the full exam duration to complete it, even if the expiration date passes.
2. Retake Policy
After an unsuccessful attempt, you can retake the exam 30 days after your last attempt.
Once you pass, no further attempts are allowed, even if unused attempts remain.
Additional attempts can be purchased through the Certification Store.
4. Pass Criteria
Achieve the passing score defined in the CCDL1 Exam Blueprint. Refer to page
Upon passing, you receive an official certificate and a Credly digital badge.
Your certification is valid for 4 years from the date you pass (see Expiry & Recertification).
5. Store Add-Ons
If you have used both of your original exam attempts and need another opportunity, you can purchase an additional attempt through the Certification Store.
